nine (ninegcse.com) is a free GCSE Science revision website. We decide how your data is used, which makes us the "data controller" under UK data protection law. Questions? Email ninegcseuk@gmail.com.
nine is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by AQA or any school.

We don't ask for your school, age, address or phone number, and we don't want them.
We use your data because it's needed to provide the service you signed up for: saving your progress. We don't use it for anything else. We never use it to target ads or build a profile of you.
We use a few trusted services to run the site. They only handle data on our instructions.
Past papers and mark schemes open on AQA's website, where AQA's privacy policy applies.
We only use what's needed to keep you signed in. There are no advertising cookies.
We count page visits using Vercel Analytics, so we can see which parts of nine get used. It uses no cookies, doesn't follow you to other websites, and doesn't tell us who you are.
We also collect anonymous usage statistics ourselves: which screens get used, how long people spend revising, which buttons and past papers get opened, how fast the site loads, and any errors. This uses no cookies and we never store your IP address. Your browser is given a random ID that isn't linked to your name or email, and if your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal, we don't collect anything at all. We use these statistics only to make nine better.
We keep your data while you have an account. If you delete your account, your data is deleted straight away. If you email us to ask, we'll delete it within 30 days.
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can delete your account yourself in Settings → Delete my account, or email us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
nine is made for GCSE students, so we've kept everything as private as possible by default. We collect the least we can, we never show ads, and nothing you do is shared with anyone. If you're unsure about anything here, it's a good idea to talk it through with a parent, carer or teacher.
If we change this page, we'll update the date at the top. For big changes, we'll tell you on the site.
